The air is crisp, clean, and cool. Leaves are slowly starting to change to beautiful reds, oranges, and yellows. The smell of wood burning fireplaces is subtle yet adds that perfect touch to the season that is Fall. It's very possibly my favourite time of the year, and I can't wait to share my list of fun fall and autumn activities that you can do with the family this September, October, and maybe even November.
1. Apple picking
An activity that I recently did for the first time ever, and absolutely loved. It's fun for the whole family and you get to eat apples that are as fresh as it gets. Also, it's a fall activity that can be done earlier in the season around the middle of September. It really doesn't get much better than this.
2. Going for walks/hiking
I honestly don't think there is anything better than long walks in the fall. The air smells so crisp and clean and your lungs feel energized by the cool refreshing breeze. Research hiking trails in your area and take your family out for a healthy, positive activity by going for a nice walk.
3. Playing Family Football or Going to a Football Game
Another reason why fall is my favourite season is because it's also the start of football season! I love playing catch with my boyfriend and we both love watching football and going to football games. If football isn't really your thing, you can just substitute your favourite fall sport.
4. Picking Pumpkins and then Carving them
This activity has become a tradition with me and my significant other. We've picked pumpkins and carved them together for the past 3 years. Something about getting my hands all gooey and messy with the people I love makes me feel very happy.
5. Drinking hot apple cider
Can you say, "Mmmmmmmmm?" The fall season is not complete for me without a perfect cup of hot apple cider. It just tastes like autumn. If you don't like it, try something else like Pumpkin Lattes, which are usually featured in cozy coffee shops this time of the year.
6. Raking Leaves
This may seem like a strange fall activity to love, but I honestly will just go out and do this. I know I'm too old to play in the leaves, but seeing the piles makes me feel like a child again. I think it's very important to keep that inner child alive, because no one is more alive than a child. So go ahead. Judge me. I don't mind a bit.
7. Baking (Pies, Cookies, Anything really)
You know how people buy those fall scented candles and their house smells like pumpkin pie? Why torture yourself by smelling something you can't have, and why not just bake a pie yourself. It's a great activity to do with your partner, children, or even by yourself if you love to bake as much as I do. That way, you can have your pie and eat it too.
That's it for my favourite fall activities. Comment below what some of your favourite fall activities are. I would love to know and make sure you stay warm and cozy this season.

Fun Fall and Autumn Activities
Monday, 11 February 2013
Update: February 11, 2013
Hey everyone!
Finally bringing an update. I've lost 3 pounds! Just from eating better, but that's not the goal of my do-over. What I'm trying to do is feel better, physically and mentally. So far not much has changed in the way I feel. I feel a little bit better but not as great as I want to feel.
Today for breakfast I had:
2 Scrambled Eggs
1 Cup of fresh blueberries
1 Banana
1 Cup of Chamomile tea, sweetened with Agave syrup
1 Slice of Watermelon
Here's some pictures of what I've been eating:

What is a good life?
What is a good life? This question has made me consider, quite seriously, what or who defines whether or not we are living a good life. Certainly society does a very good job at trying to convince people that they need to have a large house, husband and wife, two kids, and a dog among other material items, in order to have a good life. To me, these things would be nice, but not necessarily essential in order to live a good life. Ultimately the good life is different for all people and to generalize and say there is only one way of living a good life would be wrong. However I do believe there is one thing that measures a good life, and that thing is love.
If you can find love in your life and surround yourself with the people and/or the things that you love, you are probably living a pretty good life. If you love rock music, or gardening, or painting, or reading, writing, or whatever it is that you love, and if you can find a way to surround yourself with these things, you are probably living the good life.
I do think I am living a good life because I only surround myself with things that I love, like my school, my friends, my family, music, movies, and books. I also try very hard to share the love and improve the lives of those around me. Success in the area of love, I think is what can be used to measure a good life.
Here are a couple of links to some things that I love:
1) Song, "Don't Wait Too Long" by Madeleine Peyroux
2) Song, "Caroling, Caroling" by Nat King Cole (Because I love Christmas Time)
3) Film and Book, Pride and Prejudice, (Click on the link to watch a clip from the movie and please read the book. It's lovely)
